All new Statutory rates have been updated in Edupay to apply from April 6th.
SSP (Statutory Sick Pay)
1) No lower earning limit - all employees qualify for SSP regardless of earnings
2) No Waiting days to receive SSP - SSP is received on day 1 of sickness (previously on day 4 of sickness)
3) SSP Calculation - SSP amount will be calculated as the LOWER of:
- 80% of the employee’s Average Weekly Earnings (AWE)
- or the statutory flat SSP weekly rate (£123.25 from April 2026)
