EduPay calculates cost of living backpay on all occupational sick pay received by the employee during the backpay period.
In addition, for any months in the backpay period where an employee has received occupational and statutory sick pay, cost of living backpay will also be applied to the statutory value. This ensures that employees on sick leave receiving full pay will receive the correct backpay amount.
Cost of living backpay relating to sickness will be displayed in the Employees Pay Elements tab in the month that Cost of living is Approved in BPS:
The amount shown as Cost of living – Sickness includes backpay relates to OSP and SSP. Therefore, this amount represents the additional sick pay the employee should have received to top them up to their contractual pay after the cost of living award.
