Overpayment/Repayment steps to follow to input into EduPay.
Option 1
Deduct the gross overpayment figure directly from the following months Payroll by entering a negative adjustment of the gross overpayment figure.
Option 2 (Employee has already paid back the money or is going to repay outside of payroll)
You will need the gross overpayment figure, this would need to be entered as a negative adjustment to next available pay month via pay elements tab. The net overpayment figure then needs to be entered as a negative net deduction via the pay elements tab to reflect the money has been repaid (may not have been repaid but school can chase for payment outside of payroll). Check the correct tax, NI and pension amounts have been refunded based on the overpayment figure.
Option 3 if the school wants to set up a repayment plan:
Add in gross deductions via adjustment tab each month for the agreed portion of money to be overpaid.
