This can only be actioned by: BPS role, FMS admin, Edupay admin users.
The first step to create a job role is to navigate to the central side of your BPS site.
Then on the BPS dashboard you will see a Job Role Tab on the right side of the page,
click into here and select "add job role"
DETAILS TAB
Following on from the previous steps you will be greeted with a blank slate where you can enter the relevant job role details such as Role name, ledger codes, job role type i.e. teaching/support and the max hours in the job role.
The max hours (per week) is important as it is used to calculate the FTE, for example if you enter 32.5 hours and the employee only works 20 per week the system will divide the two figures. The FTE would be 0.61538 (20/32.5)
If your trust uses a divisor then this can be added by clicking the "weeks paid applies" , then you will see a "has divisor" button appears aswell as a dropdown list to choose the relevant divisor.
You will also notice a WFC - POST DESCRIPTION and ROLE ID.
You will need to choose the relevant description from the list that you wish to show in the Workforce census report.
See below how the ID/role identifier shows in the workforce census report (NOTE: the WFC report is availlable in Edupay for customers with the HR Module)
Now the DETAILS tab has been filled in click save at the bottom of the page.
PAY SCALES TAB
After pressing save you will notice 2 more tabs, PayScale and authorities.
If you click into the Payscales tab you will be able to assign which PayScale the job role will use via the drop down list (highlighted below) aswell as the points behind the scale.
Then once happy with this press update to lock in the changes.
AUTHORITIES TAB
In the Authorities tab you will see a list of all authorities setup within your site.
Simply select the authority you wish for the role to be used in and the click save at the bottom of the page.
