A PAYE reference is a unique set of numbers used by HMRC to identify you. This number is given to every business that registers with HMRC as an employer. The format of the PAYE ref usually consists of two parts, a three digit HMRC office reference, followed be a / and then a reference number unique to you, it usually looks something like this 123/A56789.

We do not set this up for youto get a PAYE (Pay As You Earn) reference number, you need to register as an employer with HMRCthis is usually provided within 5 business days by HMRC.
