How to calculate Spot salary

Calculating an Annual Spot salary from an hourly rate.


To calculate the spot salary annual figure you will need the hourly rate payable.


Step 1: Take the hourly rate such as £15


Step 2: multiply by max weeks set by the school (Usually 52 or 52.143)


Step 3: Then Multiply by Max job role hours (Usually 32.5 or 37)


Formula= Hourly rate x max weeks of the specific school x max job role hours = Spot salary.



Example: £15 x 52.143 x 32.5 = £25,419 .71 Annum

To calculate the Hourly rate you will need the spot salary annual figure payable.


Step 1: Take the Annual salary such as £25,000


Step 2: Divide by max weeks set by the school (Usually 52 or 52.143)


Step 3: Then Divide by Max job role hours (Usually 32.5 or 37)


Formula= Annual salary rate / max weeks of the specific school / max job role hours = Spot salary hourly rate



Example: £25,000 / 52.143 / 32.5 = £14.75 Hourly rate
